HSA English Palakkad- Teacher Empowerment Programme-Jan-10

Objectives:
• To develop strategies to improve S.S.SL.C. Result using Vijayasree material
• To strengthen zero D+ campaign
• To help the participants to develop training manual for teacher empowerment programme
• To prepare comprehensive unit plan class VIII&IX

Course Structure

Day I
9.30 Registration
10 to 11 Review
11 to 1 Developing Package for zero D+ Result
1 to 2 Lunch Break
2 to 2.30 How to prepare for Examas?
2.30 to 3 Simulation RP CUP -Class VIII
4 to 4.15 Wrap up.
Day II

10 to 10.10 documentation
10.10 to 11.30 simulation
11.30 to 11.40 tea break
11.40 to12.30. discussion based on simulation
12.30 to 1 SEN
1 to 2 Lunch break
2 to 3 CUP Preparation
3 to 3.30 Presentations
3.30 to 4 discussion based on presentations
4.to 4.15 wrap up

Day I
RP asks the participants to share their experiences in the last teacher empowerment programme
• How did the teachers respond to the last TEP
• What was your experience in TEP/classroom related to ICT?
• How did teachers/students respond to this strategy?

RP initiates a discussion on the District Level Mid-term Result analysis.
• How do you respond to this result as an English teacher?
• Have you introduced Vijayasree material in your class room?
• What is the relevance of this material in this situation?
• How would you develop teaching manual for transacting the vijayasree material?
• List out the striking ideas that you have noted in your T.M?
• What are the limitations to transact this material?

Children face a lot of limitations especially D and E grade students.
There needs to be some specific methods to address this issue.

Session II Develop package for Zero D+ result
RP distributes the sample materials
Discussion after individual work.
RP groups the participants and asks them to prepare similar materials.
Group presentation and discussion.

Prepare materials such as diary, letter, notice, profile etc

Lunch Break

Session III
How to prepare for exams?
Children face many problems while preparing for exams .RP distributes a questionnaire to find out different learning styles and problems.
Elicit responses and consolidation.

Session IV
RP introduces Unit 5 of std VIII for simulation (Introductory part)

Session V CUP preparation of class VIII.
RP divides the participants into four groups and assigns duties to each group.
Group 1. Lines written in March(poem)
Group 2 . Three questions
Group 3. Adventures of Robinson Crusoe
Group 4. Daisy song.

Group preparation and presentation
Discussion and refinement.

RP assigns duties to prepare TM for simulation individually.
Session VI wrap up

Day II

Documentation
RP selects participants for simulation from each group by lots.
Simulation group 1

Discussion.

CUP preparation :class IX
RP groups the participants into three groups and assigns duties to each group.
Group 1- Chumly

Comprehensive unit plan has to be prepared focusing zero D+ result.
